I strive to
keep an ethical approach to my behavior and the behavior of my students within
the context of an educational environment in that I look for the methods of
classroom management that prove to be reasonable, justifiable, and fair to
everyone involved in learning. Additionally
the goal of having students conduct themselves in an appropriate manor should come
as a reflection of how teachers present themselves since one cannot expect that
children will model themselves appropriately if their teachers do not do the
same. I do believe that what is most appealing about an ethical and moral
approach to classroom management is its duality of using effective lesson
planning to teach subject matter while constantly reflecting on how to conduct
oneself to meet the greatest social good. I believe that an ideal teacher has a
well thought out plan for each lesson in order to keep the students engaged in
learning throughout the time allotted for class. Fred Jones encourages
teachers to fulfill this duty daily. Its discipline promotes good
behavior from the students by introducing them to a routine that maximizes the
amount of learning through concise lesson planning combined with interactive
teaching. The teacher needs to have set skills that fulfill the desire of
students to want to learn and overpower any yearning to reject the moral fiber
of the classroom.
As part of my philosophy of education I have included selected written pieces which demonstrate progression of my learning theories.
